This time being it on sunday, we decided to go to the basilica del sto.nino founded 1565.We then decided to eat lunch 1st at the CNT lechon inside ayala malls. We arrived during lunch time and so there was this huge line up for the famous cebu lechon.
Gene was lining up to see the image of sto.nino that was kept in the sto.nino chapel.A must see when visiting cebu city. One of the oldest religious relic in the Philippines. It was given and presented by Pigafetta to the newly baptized queen Juana around the 15th century.
Getting some ssouvenirs and lighting up some candles before leaving the church.The mass was held outdoor as the old main church was still in construction as it was damage from the previous earthquake.
Another famous cebu land mark is the Magellans cross. Magellans cross is located outside the basillica del sto. Nino. The cross was planted upon the arrival of Magellan in cebu around 1521. The orginal cross is encased inside to protect it. But some saids it is now just the replica and the original one was already destroyed when Magellan's died.
and a street photo's of Colon street. Colom st. is a crowded st. in downtown cebu. The first and oldest street in the Philippines.
gets busier that day as it was December and the night market event is back. Part of the Colon street was closed and vendors from food, clothing to random stuff sells for an affordable price.
Colon street had improved from the time i left Cebu. New establishment was build.
It was quite a new experienced now having Gene's around. I was glad to have him.
He did' not complained at all and was eager to roamed around my world.
It took us an hour to find a cab , lol we could just take the jeep but then for some reason we felt like taking a cab haha
But it was fun as we walked along some street of Cebu where i used to walked when i was a kid. The weather was good too as compare in manila.
So that's how we end our 2nd day in Cebu.
