foodlog- Koreana bbq restaurant

Another food adventure happened after an hour of shopping. This time we went to a korean restaurant as we are having some craving for gamjatang . I love how gamjatang taste and so is Gene. So after he tried the gamjatang at insadong few months we met, its like everytime we ate at a korean restaurant, Gamjatang should be present.

Koreana restaurant is clean, and has lots of table. its not that busy when we arrived so we got seated right away. We are not that hungry so we ordered a gamjatang to share with and dak bulgogi.

banchan or side dish: sweet potato, salad, bean sprout, pickled and kimchee.
we liked how side dish was served and taste, except for the kimchee.
The kimchee looks a bit different to the one we used too. Its bit dry and has some tangy taste and smell. So this is the 1st time we didn't finished a kimchee.

It didnt takes lots of time for our main dish to arrived.
Dak bulgogi or marinated chicken korean bbq. The meat was good, not dry, well marinated.

For the main dish our favorite korean soup gamjatang!
Gamjatang is part of our couple life, like our matcha and chai. LOL

Gene smelling the aroma of the gamjatang.

The gamjatang has a nice presentation, has more leafy vegies compare to the one we had tried! This had perilla leaves which i rarely or is few compare to other gamjatang in Calgary, which is an add points for that! good job.Unfortunately, Its not as spicy and it taste bland compare to the other gamjatang which you can really smell and taste the unique spice they add into it.
For the meat its not as soft also, compare to the one we had at moon korean restaurant. So far the best gamjatang i tried was at seoul korean bbq in mcleod, soft, and has lots of taste going on. According to Gene, koreana is best for its bbq, which i haven't tried yet.

Overall for that day, the experience was ok, can tell the chicken bbq tasted really good, but for the gamjatang both of us feels blah..
